Welcome to Calvary United Church of Christ in Barto, PA.  Calvary UCC is a small, 300+ member congregation within a friendly and comforting church atmosphere.  We pride ourselves in our hospitality.  Our size allows us to relate to one another on a first name basis as brothers and sisters in Christ. 

Our church, God’s house, is a beautiful facility that is full of character.  We have special needs access to our comfortable cushioned pews in our air-conditioned sanctuary; and to our large social hall, which is used for all sorts of joyous occasions.  We have an outdoor prayer garden for individual quiet time, which is located between the sanctuary and the social hall.  Plus, we have a large outdoor pavilion from which we can use all of our senses to experience the wonders of our Great Creator.

We are a part of the United Church of Christ; in the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference; a denomination that has its historical roots in the Congregational Churches of New England and the German Reformed Churches of Pennsylvania.  Our Protestant heritage stems from the Reformation traditions of both Calvin and Luther and today still shares the vision of a uniting church.    In 1957 churches from the Evangelical, Reformed, Congregational and Christian traditions merged into one to become what we are today - The United Church of Christ.

On a personal note… In May 2006, I graduated from the Lancaster Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree.  Prior to my time in seminary I worked for 28 years in corporate America, when I heard the call to take the “Leap of Faith” into ministry.  In November 2006, I was ordained into the ministry of the United Church of Christ.  I approach this, my first opportunity to serve God through leading a congregation, with much enthusiasm.
