The Children’s Message part of the worship service is a valuable asset that has been incorporated into Sunday morning Christian worship over the last ten years. For hundreds of years before the 1990’s there was no such thing as a Children’s Message included in the worship liturgy. In addition to Sunday school classes, dedicating five minutes or so of Christian Education during Sunday morning worship services is also a good way for children to learn about the wonders of God.
Worship is a sharing of gifts among a family of believers. Clearly, the more people who are actively involved in the worship service, the more vibrant and spiritually uplifting the service becomes. There is no doubt that several people in our faith community have an innate ability to talk to children about God, at their level, for five minutes. Please consider volunteering to be on our children’s message team. If we get six volunteers, each person would only need to commit to a five minute message, one time every eight weeks or so. SAMARITAN FUND
Last winter two separate couples from our congregation were in dire need of financial assistance. The Calvary Samaritan Fund is a fund set aside specifically for the purpose of helping people who are really struggling with making ends meet. The Calvary Spiritual Council, comprised of our four current church elders and our pastor are the overseers of all personal matters of this nature. We would like to replenish the Samaritan Fund and invite your contributions. If you would like to make a contribution to that particular need, please include cash or a check in a plain envelope with the words “Samaritan Fund” and your envelope number, in the offering plate. RECYCLING
Calvary is now collecting aluminum cans for recycling purposes. There are “Can” cans located throughout the building for your smashed or un-smashed aluminum cans. All proceeds will come directly back to the church.

THE DAILY BREAD
We are all blessed with so many opportunities to serve our God by serving others. Since March, Calvary has accepted the call to help out with the Daily Bread program, by serving lunches to our neighbors in need in the Boyertown area on the third Friday of every month at the local Salvation Army facility. Regardless of your high school and above age or your level of self-esteem, this is a great opportunity to do what we as children of God are commanded by Christ to do, love our neighbors. We need a total of five people every month to assist in this effort. If the Spirit moves you, look for the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the narthex. You’ll be glad you did.
